What ARE The Advantages of Party Rentals?

"Because I'm not sure I'm seeing it! Can't I just buy everything myself and save money? And what about using disposables?"

Well, yes, you certainly could buy everything yourself. But honestly, all things considered, it's not likely you would save money. And it is certain that you would lose time, energy, and peace of mind! As for disposables ... please, don't even consider it.

Follow along for a couple of minutes! Let us address some common objections and see if we can convince you that party rentals, especially vintage, are a win-win for most every special event!

"I'm a great DIYer and Thrift Shopper! I can "treasure hunt" at yard sales, thrift stores and on Facebook Marketplace to gather everything I need at a fraction of the price."

We recently met a momma who was doing just this for her daughter's wedding reception -- Party of 200! Honestly, we seriously admire folks who have the time, energy and resources to manage such a task. Especially in the middle of planning a wedding! (Think: dress, flowers, cake, venue, catering, bridesmaids, gifts and favors, dress fittings, flower girl, ring bearer, mother's gown, music, photographer, videographer, officiant ... are you exhausted yet??!?)

Let's face it. Our resources are limited! Is it really the best plan to drive all around picking up tableware, linens and furnishings piecemeal for your special event? Consider the time and energy (and fuel expense!) required.

Think about the space needed for storage. What about those "minor" repairs and the extra cleaning that's always required when buying second-hand? And, perhaps most importantly, who's going to safely deliver and set up (and pick them back up when it's over!) all of your fabulous finds on the day of your event? You'll certainly have more important things needing your attention!

Obviously weddings represent the "worst cast scenario" for trying to do it all yourself, but the same principles apply to every special event. Every hostess has a laundry list of details to manage and it's so much more affordable -- in so many ways -- to hire your party pieces.

"Well, maybe I should just borrow heirloom china from family and friends to create a charming vintage tablescape! And I know my aunt has a beautiful settee I could use!"

Borrowing is not a terrible option if family and friends have lots of china, stemware, and silverplate they don't mind sharing (and they won't be devastated if it's chipped or broken). As for borrowing furnishings, be sure to discuss the possibilities of scratches and dents on wood or spills on fabrics.

When borrowing for large events, it's mostly likely you'll have to gather pieces from several sources. An important challenge to consider in this is finding a good system to keep up with who has what patterns (especially silverplate!) and how many of each piece you're using.

Ultimately, you're still battling the DIY issues of delivery, set up and tear down when choosing to borrow, but it can be a budget friendly option that allows you to still enjoy the benefits of true vintage elegance.

Before choosing to borrow, just carefully weigh the consequences of damages or loss when borrowing from friends vs. hiring pieces from a party rental business. A rental business expects to manage dents and dings and will only charge a nominal fee for breakage. Your aunt or your sister's best friend may be completely crushed if a treasured and hard-to-replace heirloom is lost or broken. And it would sure put a damper on your perfect day!

"Why in the world wouldn't I choose disposables? I've seen some very nice looking plastics and it seems pretty affordable!"

If sustainability is an issue for you at all, you won't even consider plastic plates and cutlery for your event. In addition to the environmental impact of disposing of these plastics, there's a tremendous "carbon footprint" from the production of these items. We won't belabor the point, because a simple google search will give you mounds of information on the topic. That being said, sustainability is not our reason for totally discounting disposables.

You simply cannot match the elegance and charm that a vintage tablescape with heirloom china will add to your special event! And, from simple settings to extremely elaborate ones, there are options that will match almost every budget. (Be sure to talk directly to the rental business regarding pricing for your event! Almost all will offer "package pricing" that is substantially less expensive than the "per piece" pricing that appears on many websites.)

Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create tablescapes that you'll always remember! Plus, "nice" disposables aren't as inexpensive as you might think (check out the link, above). And really, do you want your guests struggling to eat with plastic cutlery ... just imagine the opportunities for mishaps!

"Why should I choose vintage over the simple whites and goblets from the dollar store or large event rental companies? It seems much more costly."

Your wedding day ... your bridal shower ... or that tea party to celebrate your new little baby ... these should all be unique and special and your very own! While generic plates, goblets and flatware can be dressed up nicely, your event simply should not look like everyone else's.

By choosing vintage, you open the door to endless possibilities! Would you love a simple pink rose on white porcelain with platinum accents? What about a blue and white transferware with an Asian-influenced floral boarder? Maybe a romantic and colorful pattern featuring a variety of roses in full bloom? If elegant and classical is your taste, you might choose a white-on-white porcelain with a silver or gold rim. And a holiday affair? How about a beautiful cranberry glass paired with white milk glass? Endless possibilities ... uniquely your own! (And we haven't even explored stemware options!!)

While you may pay a tad bit more (but not necessarily so ... definitely do the math!), vintage offers something that "the other guy" simply cannot. We encourage you to seriously investigate your options!!

"So what's the bottom line? Why should I hire vintage for my special event???"

We're so glad you're considering vintage rentals!! Vintage is absolutely unique and can be custom designed to match your own personal style. Your event will be like no other! It's environmentally friendly, hassle-free, and - in the end - surprisingly affordable. If you'd like more details, visit us to explore the possibilities.
We'd be honored to be a part of making your dreams come true! 💕

What Do I DO With My Grandma's Fine China?

"Because I don't want it!! I have no where to store it and very little occasion to use it. But, I love my Grandma and the memories of her fine china, and of course, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings!"   Is this a very real dilemma that you're facing today? Great news! We've got some amazing suggestions for preserving your heritage and those precious memories without cluttering up your life!! First of all, it's important that you not feel guilty about "doing away" with your grandmother's fine china. (It's not going to be like that anyway ... we promise!) For many reasons, a large collection of china is not practical for families today. And you won't be "honoring" anyone by boxing up dishes you won't use and storing them in a dusty old attic or basement (probably never to be seen again anyway). So, definitely let go of your guilt (because you're not going to just drop it off at the Goodwill for heaven's sa
